Godfrey Johnson
Godfrey worked as a commercial photographer before joining the BBC, where he gained 25 years experience as a Director of Photography, filming series such as Horizon and Panorama, for which he won an Emmy.
When the BBC closed its Film Department in 1994 Godfrey set up West London Photography with his wife, Susan.
Godfrey brings a fine understanding of lighting and composition to his industrial/commercial photography. He works fast and with precision, always looking for ways of getting striking results. Events organisers appreciate his professionalism and generous coverage.
He is equally at home in the Performing Arts where his experience of high profile BBC Drama and Arts documentaries has given him a sense of timing that is second to none. He always produces photographs that are visually exciting and technically superb.
Wedding photography plays to all Godfrey's strengths. Working together with Susan, he will provide you with beautiful images presented in a wonderful album, a lasting reminder of your happiest day.
Godfrey is a qualified member of BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography), the MPA (Master Photographers Association) and SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers).
Susan Johnson
Susan was a Film Director and Producer at the BBC for 20 years before she set up West London Photography with her husband Godfrey.
Her documentary assignments have taken her all over the world, developing her passion for people and places. She prefers a photojournalistic approach, and is in demand for PR and Events photography.
Susan's portrait and wedding photographs are fresh and spontaneous. She prefers to avoid formal poses, maintaining that expression is what matters the most. Modern brides and grooms definitely agree: they want images that capture the spirit of their wedding day and Susan's photographic style and friendly professional manner suit them perfectly.
Susan also runs the administrative side of West London Photography. She is most probably the person who will take your phone call, and make all the practical arrangements to ensure your commission goes smoothly from beginning to end.
Susan and Godfrey make a great team, at home and on location.
They live in London and are happy to travel wherever work takes them, particularly to destinations in the South West where they can be based at no additional cost to their clients.
